अब हर language learning app दावा करता है कि वो AI use करता है। Duolingo के पास Birdbrain है। Babbel ने speech recognition जोड़ दी। Speak GPT-4 पर चलता है। Marketing में लिखा है ‘personalized’, ‘adaptive’, ‘intelligent’।

लेकिन ज़रा देखिए कि AI actually कर क्या रहा है — एक pattern दिखता है: ये सबके लिए एक ही experience optimize कर रहा है।

Duolingo का Birdbrain decide करता है कि अगला exercise कौन सा दिखाना है — लेकिन exercises तो हर user के लिए same हैं। ये order adapt करता है, content नहीं। आपको ’the boy eats an apple’ थोड़ा अलग time पर दिखता है, लेकिन आप और अगले learner दोनों को ’the boy eats an apple’ ही मिलता है।
